COMPETITIVE PROGRAMS OVERVIEW
ECNL-RL | U9-U19 Competitive | U7-U8 Academy
Competitive programs are for players seeking an advanced level of play and development. Teams are expected to travel to games outside of San Ramon. Younger age group teams will travel locally. Teams in older age groups may have overnight travel for certain tournaments. The U7-U8 Academy is seasonal while the ECNL-RL and U9-U19 programs are considered year round programs. Other programs are seasonal.

U7-U8 Academy Overview (2019-2018 Birth Years)

The U7-U8 Academy program philosophy provides young players with the best possible start to their soccer experience; learning in a fun and enjoyable environment under the guidance of coaches who excel with youth development. The U7-U8 Academy program helps create positive habits and attitudes, which in turn create the foundation for future soccer excellence. The program focuses on developing individual players. It is more important to develop players within the proper framework at this age rather than demand a team to win at all costs. The ultimate goal is to help each child in the program develop skills and techniques to play the beautiful game with creativity, passion and a better understanding of their role within the game. The entire emphasis of play in the youth development stages is on learning skills, improving decision making and learning to compete while having FUN.

U9-U10 Competitive Overview (2017-2016 Birth Years)
The U9-U10 Competitive program is a year round program that begins in July and concludes the following May. Teams practice three times a week. Players in the U9-U10 Competitive program are grouped into teams to participate in training and organized leagues based on their playing level. The long term objective is to instill a passion for the game by challenging each player to develop their abilities against the appropriate level of competition.
U9-U10 Competitive Program Objectives
- Foster an environment where players will improve and develop at a rate consistent with their commitment level to the sport
- Develop players who train, compete and succeed at local, regional, national, and international events
- Help players reach their full potential both on and off the field
- Instill a life-long love and respect for the sport
- Guide players in their development, including playing opportunities in college, or on NPSL or WPSL team, or professionally when possible
The SRFC coaching staff evaluates a player's skill level in order to give each child the best opportunity to succeed. The long term objective is to instill a passion for the game by challenging each player to develop their abilities against the appropriate level of competition.

About Tournaments: Teams typically participate in 2 or more local tournaments during the year as well. Tournament fees are not included in the competitive program fees.
Please Note: Players learn and grow at different times and at their own pace. It is common for players who develop their skills quickly to be evaluated during the season and moved to team roster competing at a higher level if it is in the best interest of the player's development.

U14-U19 NPL / ECNL-RL Overview (2012-2007 Birth Years)
San Ramon FC's top level team in each age group will be eligible to compete in the NPL and ECNL-RL programs, beginning with the U14 age group. The top level team in the U9-U10 age group is designated as the "navy" team; in the U11-U13 age groups by the name "pre-NPL" and in the U14-U19 age groups by either "NPL" or "ECNL-RL". For example: 2015G Navy, 2011G pre-NPL, and 2008B ECNL-RL.
U14-U19 teams practice three times a week plus a fourth training session involving P.A.S.S. fitness activities: power, agility, strength, speed. Video analysis is also a regular team activity as well.
Please Note: Players learn and grow at different times and at their own pace. It is common for players who develop their skills quickly to be evaluated during the season and moved to a team roster competing at a higher level if it is in the best interest of the player's development.

About NPL
The National Premier League was created to elevate and change the competitive youth soccer landscape by extending developmental principles promoted by U.S. Soccer into more age groups and clubs and linking competition with player development and identification platforms. San Ramon FC's boys and girls navy teams begin to play in the NPL in the U14-U19 age groups. SRFC navy teams compete in the NorCal NPL Division of NorCal Premier.
About ECNL-RL
San Ramon FC's U14-U19 NPL teams can earn promotion into the NorCal ECNL Regional League by finishing at or near the top of the standings in NPL league play. In partnership with the Elite Clubs National League, the NorCal Division of the ECNL Regional League exists to provide the highest level of competition and college showcasing opportunities to teams and clubs within Northern California, while limiting the travel demands on families.

The men's pro-development program is for adult male players looking to further develop their skills and play on the next level.
San Ramon FC's men's program competes in The League For Clubs (TLFC) in the West Region Conference. The team features adult men with elite skills and experience who are seeking to hone their skills and play at a high level. Older teens with elite skills in the SRFC youth program will be invited to train with the TLFC team and play in matches when appropriate. The men's team TLFC season is from March to June.

WPSL is for adult female players looking to further develop their skills and play on the next level.
San Ramon FC's women's program competes in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) in the Pac North Division. The team features adult women with elite skills and experience. Players are often college age players or recent graduates who are seeking to hone their skills and possibly play professionally. Older teens with elite skills in the SRFC youth program will be invited to train with the WPSL team and play in matches. A number of SRFC WPSL alumna players have been drafted into professional leagues, such as the NWSL, in recent years. The women's team WPSL season is from May to July.
925 Futsal: Competitive Youth Futsal Affiliate Club
Visit 925Futsal.com925 Futsal is San Ramon FC's club neutral youth futsal program. It is open to players from any youth soccer club. The competitive-level club typically has teams compete in a winter league as well as regional tournaments that occur in the spring and summer. The 925 Futsal training and competition schedules are designed to avoid scheduling conflicts with outdoor soccer programs.
Tryouts in the fall determine placement on a 925 Futsal team. Teams can form in the U8-U14 age groups.
